Hook Primary School was founded in 1914 and the original building serves as the main part of the school. The additional buildings have been built in 1976. The school offers after school clubs that cover netball, recorders, rugby, soccer and computer club. There is a strong emphasis on music and games and the school choir has performed at various charity events. The school'sports team has been able to compete in an equal footing with much larger primary school. The school has began a Spanish club for all children interested in learning Spanish before progressing to secondary school. All children year five and six are taught to play the recorder. The school encourages its pupils to work to the best of his/her ability for the benefit of the community and the general environment. There is a policy that actively promotes racial awareness of other cultures.
